Departing Cape Town, we travel along a beautiful coastal route to Hermanus, famous for the best land-based Whale watching in the world. In the late morning we continue on our route to Bredasdorp where we visit the shipwreck museum and then we drive to the southernmost point of the continent, Cape Agulhas. Late afternoon we stop and visit the charming historical town of Swellendam where we overnight.

After breakfast, we travel inland to Oudtshoorn via the Tradouw Mountain pass, a dramatic entry into the semi-desert area of the Karoo. In Oudtshoorn we visit the world famous Cango Caves and an Ostrich farm. We stay in Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich capital of the world, for our second night.

Awake to the freshness of the cool morning of the Klein Karoo. We visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch, and have face to face encounters with a number of endangered species. Our tour continues with the drive to George via the Outeniqua Mountain pass. Driving along the Indian Ocean coastline, we will take you to the heart of the Garden Route, Knysna. We spend the last night in the beautiful coastal town of Knysna.

After an early breakfast, our return journey will take us to a game reserve of 3000 hectares for an early game drive until midday, in open 4×4 Landrovers. We will have the opportunity of viewing a great diversity of wildlife – Rhinoceros, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, rare Black Impala, Kudu, Nyala, Waterbuck, Eland, Mountain Zebra, etc.
Following this unique African experience a close-up conducted Elephant tour will make this day an unforgettable one. We will then have a traditional lunch in the elegant thatched-roof restaurant. The late afternoon will bring us back to the ‘Mother City’ Cape Town, via Sir Lowry’s Pass, which offers spectacular views of the Cape Peninsula.
