GARDEN ROUTE TOURS

Sandwiched between the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains is South Africa’s famous and unashamedly beautiful Garden Route. Originally the route only encompassed the narrow 300 km coastal stretch between Mossel Bay and the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Today though, it is widely accepted that the route starts just outside Cape Town and meanders along the southern Cape coastline to Port Elizabeth- a distance of almost 800 km.

The Garden Route is packed with things to do. Visitors to the region can hike through some of the most stunning scenery South Africa has to offer, throw themselves off the world’s highest bungee jump bridge (216m), or play golf on courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Ernie Els.

If breaking a sweat is not your thing, then the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe (the last remaining continually-operated passenger steam train in Africa) will happily show you around as it hugs the coastline between George to Mossel Bay.

The Garden Route is the perfect opportunity to see South Africa’s diverse and abundant fauna and flora. From the Knysna elephants, to the fynbos and the forests, the Garden Route really does have it all, and it promises to be a truly unforgettable experience.

FACT 02
Cape Point is not the Southernmost point on the African Continent. Cape Agulhas some 3 hours east of Cape Town holds that title.
